At Jeff Johnston's Billet Fabrication, our name reveals what sets us apart from our competitors in the manufacturing of oil pans and valve covers: We stand alone in the racing industry in our insistence on using stout, billet-aluminum rails for all of the sealing surfaces in every oil pan and all Professional-Series valve covers.
Rails that are simply stamped out or "bent under" are fine for OEM purposes, in which valve covers and oil pans are installed on the assembly line, then ignored for years at a time. Serious racers, however, encounter a very different reality, as these parts are constantly being removed and reinstalled. This repeated process commonly leads to warping of the rails and subsequent movement of the gaskets, making the containment of the oil ever-more difficult. The results are not only messy, but potentially hazardous.
Our exclusive combination of CNC-machined, 3/8-inch billet rails and seals welded to thick-sheet-metal bodies absolutely assures the structural and sealing integrity of Billet Fabrication oil pans and Professional valve covers — even after hundreds of removals. Sophisticated in-house computers, engineering software and CNC machining centers enable us to continually improve our products. This high-technology approach to solving common problems results in superior oil pans and valve covers for our racing customers.

Oil Pans
Custom aluminum oil pans are offered in one- or two-piece configurations for GM, Ford and Chrysler V8s in all racing applications, with any style chassis. Every wet-sump and dry-sump pan features our famous 6061-billet rails and seal sections. A "power kickout" is standard. Trap-door baffles and a windage screen or tray are also provided, at no extra charge. Most models further include the correct pickup for your oil pump and application. The billet rails of our stroker pans are machined with notches deep enough to accommodate the largest stroker crankshafts. Popular options include new "anticlimb" baffling and our exclusive Baffle-Ball system for wet-sump drag racing.
As a welcome validation of our approach to oil containment and the quality of our parts, other well-respected industry leaders have tapped Billet Fabrication to assist in the development of their products. We manufacture a complete line of wet-sump oil pans designed specifically to accommodate Titan Speed Engineering's adjustable-pressure, gerotor oil pumps, which are renowned for providing a steady flow of oil and virtually eliminating cavitation. The engineers at Chris Alston's Chassisworks worked closely with us to develop specific oil pans to fit Chassisworks' revolutionary bolt-on front frames for 1962-66 Chevy IIs (as seen in numerous issues of Super Chevy and Popular Hot Rodding magazines). We are proud to have been chosen as the preferred supplier to both of these companies.
Valve Covers
The quality of our Professional and Sportsman Series valve covers is second to none. We also offer options such as valvespring oilers, breathers, fittings, and affordable custom engraving. Because engraving is accomplished entirely in-house, the cost is now within reach of every company or racing team.
In addition to providing the standard parts appearing in this Website, we welcome custom orders. If you require something that you don't see here, there's a good chance that we can build it for you — at the best price, with the quickest turnaround time in the industry!
